How
To Do The Perfect Ollie
1)
Whilst rolling at a comfortable speed, position your
front foot roughly in the middle of the board and your
back foot on the tail of the board.
2) Crouch
down slightly in preparation for a powerful vertical
leap. At this point your body weight should largely
be focussed on your fore feet as oppose to your heels.
3) Pushing
from your toes, jump as high as you can, extending your
whole body and throwing your weight directly upwards.
4) At
the point where you are fully extended you must “pop” the
tail off the ground using your trailing tip toes, whilst
simultaneously scraping your leading foot upwards towards
the nose of the board.
5) Both
you and your board should now be rising upwards. When
your leading foot catches the crease of the nose you
must kick the nose forwards in the direction you are
travelling. As you do this, suck your back leg up to
your chest allowing the rear of the board to gain height.
6) Once
both legs are fully compressed and the tail of the board
is at least as high as the nose you can begin to extend
your legs as you descend, but do remember to bend your
knees again for a cushioned landing.
Ollie Tips
1) Practise
ollieing in a stationary position to build up your confidence
fir a rolling ollie.
2) Keep
your shoulders parallel to your direction of travel
to prevent your ollie turning to one side.
3) Try ollieing on to, off, from and over objects to
improve your timing in different stages of the trick.
